Specialized Student Support Case-Manager

Position Requirements: Master Degree in Psychology/Social Work or other related field. Candidate must be licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (LPC or LSW), possibly credentialed through insurance providers. This candidate must have 3-5 years post-graduate clinical experience, working knowledge of mental health law, special education law and services available in the community. This candidate must possess excellent verbal skills and writing skills, the ability to think quickly on his/her feet, be able to work as a member of a team and also be able to work effectively in an independent manner.

Job Responsibilities: The primary focus of this position is to monitor and support those high-risk students within the district. These students may have come to the attention of the education staff and administrators via their Special Education needs, their needs identified through the RTI process; their chronic need to be seen by the nurse, school counselor or by the building principal for on-going disciplinary concerns.

This licensed mental health professional would be responsible for meeting with these students on an individual basis, coordination of information within the building to all necessary parties regarding the student, schedule any necessary meetings, partner with the classroom teacher to develop positive behavior intervention programming, partner with the building principal on safety plans and positive interventions to be utilized when dealing with this student, gather any necessary data to track the student’s behavior increase or decrease and present this information in a concise report, participate in the FBA process from beginning to end, partner with any outside agency that is currently working with the student either through a wrap-around provider or other support service, and develop a positive working relationship with the student’s parents.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this professional would be required to maintain accurate documentation of interventions utilized, classroom strategies, staff training opportunities, meetings scheduled, those who attended and the agreed upon outcome of the meeting. In addition, this professional would be required to complete, on a monthly basis, ACCESS billing on eligible students.

It should be noted that the development of the role of this professional and specific job responsibilities will be a joint effort between the staff at the Upper Saint Clair School District and the staff at A + Consulting, INC.
